A side note from Trista:

Since I have stepped foot on this campus, I knew this was the university that would allow me, along with my fellow students, an opportunity to grow.  Not only do students at UWGB have the opportunity to establish excellent student to professor relationships, but students have the opportunity to become involved.  Our involvement as students shape how this university is to function, now and in the future.

For students who I have not yet met, my name is Trista Seubert.  I am hoping to serve YOU next year as the Student Government Association President. Over the past two years, I have become involved so that I may represent my fellow students.  My freshman year on campus, I served as a Student Senator, while also serving as the Residence Hall and Apartment Association President.  As my sophomore year on campus is almost in completion, I am proud to say that I have served as a Student Senator for a semester, while also serving as the Residence Hall and Apartment Association President.

As the RHAA President, I have worked to reopen the communication lines between RHAA and the Resident Assistants.  After all, communication is the key for allowing work to be completed for the students.  Recommended changes to Residence Life and the parking office have also been made in regards to the Snow Removal Policy.  Recommendations included notifying on AND off campus students of when a snow removal in a parking lot will take place, at no time earlier than on a certain day, and also allowing the Sports Center parking lot to stay open the night prior to the snow removal.  Furthermore, RHAA has stayed on top of the budget cut in the Public Safety department.  Because of work between RHAA, Senate, and SGA, UW System President Reilly is now aware of the situation and conducting an audit.

Most students ask, what will YOU do for ME.  The role of student government (SGA) is to represent you, the students, in decisions made within the University, by both faculty and administration.  Important tasks SGA has taken on recently is providing input for the new Kress Events Center and the University Union Expansion.

Student government has been missing an important link in their function.  That link is connection with YOU.  Crystal and I will strive to work with the new constitution to get more students involved on a daily basis.  After all, your money is being spent within this university.  Shouldn’t you have the opportunity to speak what’s on your mind?
